Young Helps Twins To Sweep Of Royals
(Kansas City, MO) -- Delmon Young hit a three-run shot in the first inning and the Twins never looked back as they beat the Royals 6-4 at Kauffman Stadium. Jason Repko added a solo shot as Minnesota swept the three-game set. Young, Repko and Denard Span each had three hits. Brian Duensing allowed two runs over six frames for his fourth win, while Jon Rauch collected his 21st save. The Twins have won seven of their last eight. The Twins are off today. They'll begin a three-game series with the Mariners at Target Field on Friday.

Favre Still Undecided
(Undated) -- Quarterback Brett Favre still isn't announcing his intentions for the upcoming season. The 40-year-old future Hall of Famer told "USA Today" he hasn't told anyone whether he'd rejoin the Vikings. However, he joked with the paper, saying he could play until he was 50 years old. Vikings players are due in training camp today with their first practice scheduled for Friday afternoon. Last year, Favre signed a two-year contract with the Vikes halfway through the preseason and led them to the NFC Championship Game. Head coach Brad Childress says if Favre does come back, it'll take him at least three weeks to get ready. That would mean Favre would have to begin practice in mid-August to be up to speed in time for the regular season opener on September 9th at New Orleans.

Love Named Finalist For Team USA
(Colorado Springs, CO) -- Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has been named a finalist for the 2010 USA World Championship Team. The remaining candidates were selected by USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo earlier this month during training in Las Vegas. The finalists will gather in New York on August 9th and train from August 10th-16th. The final roster has to be trimmed to 12 players. The FIBA World Championship starts on August 28th and will run through September 12th in Turkey.

Wolves Sign Pekovic
(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Timberwolves signed center Nikola Pekovic on Wednesday. The Wolves selected Pekovic in the second round of the 2008 draft. The 24-year-old has played overseas the last two seasons, and averaged 14.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13 games in the Euroleague last year. He also averaged 12.9 points in 26 games in the Greek League last season.
